Interior rubber pads further protect the camera body from scratches while maintaining unrestricted access to all buttons, controls, ports, the hot shoe, and the battery compartment via a custom hinged arm.

The cage features a HawkLock-style NATO rail designed to accommodate wireless transmitters, fill lights, or side handles. This system provides a secure attachment point while allowing smooth installation and removal, helping speed up rig configuration changes on set.

(Note: Although HawkLock rails visually resemble standard NATO rails, the HawkLock clamp and plate system is not compatible with standard NATO rail accessories.)

Universal Side Handle for Enhanced Stability

The included universal side handle can be mounted on either the right or left side of the camera cage to significantly improve handheld stability. The modular attachment piece slots into either side of the handle and adjusts vertically up to 1.4″ for customizable placement. It includes a convenient magnetic Allen key slotted into the base and offers additional expansion points, including:

• Four 1/4″-20 mounting threads at the top (one with locating pins)
• An integrated cold shoe slot

HDMI Cable Protection for Reliable Connectivity

The included HDMI cable clamp protects connected cables and reduces the risk of accidental disconnection or strain on the camera’s internal HDMI port during active shooting. Crafted from durable aluminum, it mounts securely to the side of the cage using a 1/4″-20 screw with two anti-twist pins. An easy-grasp, knurled 1/4″-20 screw adjusts a sliding block that tightens to accommodate different cable diameters. An Allen wrench is included for mounting.

(Note: The included HDMI clamp is specifically optimized for compatibility with the SmallRig 2999 cage for the Sony a7S III).

Built-In Arca-Type Base and Gimbal Compatibility

The bottom of the cage features an integrated Arca-type quick release plate. This allows rapid mounting and removal between tripods, support systems, and stabilizers without requiring additional mounting plates. This design provides direct, seamless integration onto the DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, and RS 4 Mini gimbal stabilizers.

Additional Security for Mobile Shooting
